🛒 Sorry 'Amos Livs,' We Found Your Replacement
Unhinged Convenience Stores
🐉 Kina Li - Södermalm: Rummage through Stockholm's largest Asian grocery. Where ornaments, frozen goods and pig ears sit a little too close together for comfort
🐷 PolFood - Vasastan: Is Polish food good? I doubted it too, until I queued behind a Polish construction worker in this butcher-shop/deli and tried the kabanos he swore by.
💃 Supermercado - Södermalm: Your go-to Spanish grocer for tapas nights. Walked in for one jar of olives, left with a full charcuterie board — a well-documented phenomenon at this supermarket (not exactly unhinged, but certainly unique).
Beyond the city tolls…
🍉 Matköp Sundbyberg - Sundbyberg: Fruit, veg, herbs - that's it. The inside still looks half-built, and rows of crates stacked outside make you wonder why they didn't invest in a bigger store.
🕌 Kistagrossen - Kista: A dirt cheap Middle Eastern megastore with a meat counter so cheap you start questioning the animal's upbringing.
🥒 Smak Delikatesser - Skarpnäck: An Eastern European grocer with a queue consisting of Yugoslavians buying unfamiliar snacks. 60+ types of sausage, smoked fish and other goodies that taste better than they sound.

🎯 The Spot

Slakthuset: Pretend You're in Berlin for a Night
Why Go? Too chicken for an illegal rave? Slakthuset offers electronic music across three gritty floors, including a great outdoor and rooftop area.
The Vibe: Industrial decay aesthetics, alternative crowd and enough grime to feel thrilling without actually being dangerous. Exits are clearly marked, and everyone's fine.
Good to Know… Check the lineup before you go. This place shapeshifts depending on who's playing.
Weekend Game Plan
Friday: Get a tattoo off the wall at Stockholm Ink Bash, then let the weekend begin. If you’re not happy with it, head to Slakthuset to ease the regret with alcohol.
Saturday: Grab a bottle of Spanish wine at Systembolaget and swing by Supermercado for charcuterie supplies, before inviting the friends over. The main topic of conversation: which rave you’re hitting in September.
Sunday: Grab a coffee and watch the Dachshund Parade on Strandvägen. Then pretend you’re becoming a responsible adult and do a grocery run at Kistagrossen, stocking up on cheap groceries for the week ahead.
